Abstract

Physiologically plasma cells secrete an excess of light chains that are eliminated by the kidney. In a plasma cell immunoproliferative disorder , light chains are synthesized in greater quantity and monoclonal nature, to be eliminated in the urine, proteinuria are myelomatoid type or Bence-Jones proteinuria. To show studies in serum and urine samples of patients with “plasma cell dyscrasia” by techniques electrophoresis and immunofixation. Samples of fresh serum and and 24 hour urine
concentrated aliquots were employed. Electrophoresis and immunofixation of serum and concentrated urine were performed on agarose supports, and immunoglobulin quantitation was performed by nephelometry. Images of serum and urine electrophoresis with the presence of homogeneous band, and serum and urine immunofixations with monoclonar components were obtained of processed samples. In the presentation of these studies are evidence that the technique of immunofixation confirms and criminalize the Homogeneous bands observed in electrophoresis.
